Listen - Cold War Kids - Dear Miss Lonelyhearts - Full Album

Cold War Kids album ‘Dear Miss Lonelyhearts’ came to life at the band’s San Pedro, CA studio. They enlisted new guitar player, Dann Gallucci (Murder City Devils, Modest Mouse) and Lars Stalfors to produce. “We were shaken up, ready to let certain songs go further than before by trying new styles and arrangements, while keeping others sparse and caring more about the finished product and less about how we got there,” says lead singer Nathan Willett.

Listen - The Strokes - Comedown Machine - Full Album

The Strokes are to release their highly anticipated fifth studio album ‘Comedown Machine’ via Rough Trade Records.

The Strokes consist of Julian Casablancas (lead vocals), Nick Valensi (guitar), Albert Hammond, Jr. (guitar), Nikolai Fraiture (bass) and Fabrizio Moretti (drums).

The New York band have released four studio albums, ‘Is This It’ (2001), ‘Room On Fire’ (2003), ‘First Impressions Of Earth’ (2006) and ‘Angles’ (2011), which have sold over 5 million albums worldwide.

Discussing the recording of ‘Comedown Machine’, bassist Nikolai Fraiture said: “We got off tour and we had these songs, some left over and some new. We rehearsed in Electric Lady and it was working so we went with it. It was touch and go for a while but we finished up at Electric Lady (recording studio) in New York. We recorded ten or 11 songs and there is other stuff floating around.” He added: “We hashed it out all together like the good old days. It’s a legendary studio and it is not far away from us all, apart from Nick who lives in Los Angeles, but he made the trip out to record.”

Listen - Jacco Gardner - Cabinet Of Curiosities - Full Album

It's a hard realization to discover that the world may not be as magical and wondrous as you once believed, & reconciling ones loss of innocence and sense of naïveté is a theme that reoccurs often in art, music and literature. From 'To Kill a Mockingbird' to 'God Only Knows' the best articulations of lost youth can have a very visceral impact. The 12 tracks that make up the debut album "Cabinet of Curiosities" from Dutch multi-instrumentalist and producer Jacco Gardner deftly explore this territory in a far more accomplished and mature way than you singles. Jacco's melodic palette colors music with a more U.K. sensibility, where minor chords & plush harmonies brush up against strings, mellotrons, harpsichords & an occasional squeezebox.
